My wife and I purchased our weekend retreat in Taghkanic many years ago so we could spend our weekends enjoying the beauty of the scenic by-ways. After finding that we spent more time caring for our house on the weekend instead of taking walks in the park, we decided a change was needed. As my wife continued to work in the city, I began to turn my childhood dream of building a house into a reality. I designed plans for a new house and barn and then started building both structures from the ground up.
As I was building, I also did a good deal of the “house hold chores and general maintenance” during the week, which led to more relaxing time on the weekend. Thus, Country Comforts was born!

I started Country Comforts, LLC in 2003, providing solid and quality professional workmanship. I created a company that combines Construction & Handyman with Property Maintenance. I included a large number of services that focus on your home, whether you’re here on the weekends or live locally.
With this number of services, it is difficult to mention them in one conversation! Imagine three buckets, one is full of all your building, renovation and restorations designs, the second is for your handyman/handy women jobs and the third saves you time by having us handle your day to day tasks.
The first bucket is full of talented tradesman that work under my leadership to take your blueprints and make the angles and calculations come to life with hammers and nails. Building your dream house, barn, shed, porch, tree house or dock are among the projects I have done. Whether you are looking to do new construction, renovations or restorations, I will meet with you and work with your architect throughout the project.
The second bucket is for House Maintenance. There is “to do list” with any house. The integrity of the house has to be maintained for longevity. There is an endless list of small to large items that either need to be replaced, repaired or systems that need replenishing. From leaky faucets to new outlets to a fresh coat of paint, this is what it means to keep the house tip top shape.
The third bucket is everything we can do to Prep your house so you can ease into the weekend. Whether an alarm activation requires a house inspection to the various types of cleanings to hauling away large items, you’ll find the right person here to answer the call.
To wrap up, I always ask customers to tell me what they are needing or just to give me feedback on the service they received. I’m here to build more than new spaces, I’m here to build relationships.
